RUTO DECLARED KENYA’S FIFTH PRESIDENT

IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati spoke to a chaotic audience at the Bomas of Kenya before he gave his final results of the presidential candidates. Speaking at Bomas on Monday, August 15, the chairman thanked his staff for their due diligence.

“Kenyans came out and voted on the 9th of August and this is what they came out to vote. There were 4 candidates. Here are the results.

Odinga got 48.85%

Ruto got 50.49%”

William Ruto was handed the official certificate as the president elect and was also invited to give his remarks on his win.

 

“My gratitude goes to the millions of Kenyans who turned up to vote for us. The millions who also waited patiently for this announcement to be made,” Ruto revealed.

He thanked the elections for being more of agenda and not tribal. Ruto praised the people of Kenya for raising the bar for leaders.
