Sportpesa Chief Executive Officer Ronald Karauri is the latest high profile person to join parliament. In a confirmation by Citizen TV on Thursday, August 11, Karauri was declared the winner of the elections in Kasarani Constituency.

Karauri vied as an independent candidate and still managed to beat his competitors to the seat. Some of his competitors included P-Unit’s Frasha who was also in the race.

The businessman will now join the same government that made it hard for him to operate one of Africa’s best betting site.

Sportpesa went on a hiatus after runnings with the law and suspended some of its services in the country before it made a comeback.

The company has sponsored the Kenyan Premier league and even gone as far as participating in the English Premier League as shirt sponsors for Everton.
