Property Damaged as Kisumu Boys Goes Up In Flames

Property of unknown value was damaged as Kisumu Boys High School went up in flames. According to reports online on Saturday, August 20, the fire started at the school’s dormitory.

The fire was reported to have started in one of the school’s dormitories and spread to other parts of the school including the classrooms. Police and the school’s management are yet to decipher the cause of the fire.

This comes a few days after schools reopened due to the small break that they had for the general elections on August 9, 2022. Students were instructed to report back on Thursday, August 18 by the Cabinet Secretary for Education George Magoha.

School fires have been common in the recent past, especially with the tight calendar that is set to be experienced this year.

The year will see two national exams happening. One already took place in April of this year with the other happening in December.

This is to give way for the normal school calendar that will resume in 2023. The disruption was caused by the Covid 19 pandemic that forced most schools to close in 2020.
