Netflix cancels First Kill after One Season

Netflix subscribers are going crazy trying to wrap their heads around the fact that the company has cancelled a fan favourite series First Kill, after just one season.

Fans took to Twitter to express their frustrations and failure to understand why they would cancel a show that didn’t come from any prior media or had any major names attached to it.

According to different sources, the show did really well as it made 100 million PLUS viewing hours, surpassing some shows that did averagely well but had been clearly for season two.

Some people blamed the people behind the show’s cancellation, labeling them as ‘racists’ who couldn’t stand the fact that Calliope, the lead, is a black lesbian and especially darkskin who plays a huge role, while some thought it was cancelled for the mere fact that it involves lesbians and those behind it’s cancelling are sexists.

For those who are yet to watch, the story revolves around teens Juliette and Calliope. One is a vampire and the other is a vampire hunter and they are required by their families to make a first kill in order to transition into whom they were raised to become.

The show leads, Imani Lewis aka Mocha Bands and Sarah Catherine Hook took to their Instagram pages to thanks their fans and producers for the far they’ve come.

Sarah wrote:
“So many of you connecting with Juliette means more to me than words can say, thank you to all who loved & supported our special show. Love you forever Jules.”❤️

Mocha bands aka Imani Lewis on the other hand wrote:

“Forever honoured. Forever grateful. To know what this show has touched so many of you is all I could ever ask for. Thank you for letting me portray so many of your beautiful truths through Cal. I pray I served you well. Till our next adventure…. but you never never forget your first.”
