Faith Kipyegon Get’s Kenya’s First Gold Medal at Oregon

Faith Kipyegon showed her brilliance when she finished first in the 1,500 meters race earning Kenya its first Gold medal of the championship. Kipyegon on Tuesday, July 19, got Kenya her first gold medal when she blitzed past all her competitors to finish first.

The Double Olympic Champion was excellent in her race and is now a two time world champion after winning gold at Oregon, United States.

This is also Kenya’s first gold medal after the country struggled to find its feet in the ongoing Athletics World Championship being held in Oregon.

Most Kenyans congratulated the athlete noting that this was only the beginning as more medals will starts streaming in.

Musalia Mudavadi said: It’s a Gold for Kenya. A well deserved win. Congratulations Faith Kipyegon for doing the country great.
