Nigerian star Wizkid was the center of attraction at the Headies Awards held in the United States of America over the weekend. The star bagged multiple awards that recognized his dominance in the African Entertainment scene.

The singer bagged 5 awards, including Album of the year for his work on Made in Lagos. He also got an award for song of the year, a collaboration he featured rising star Tems on Essence. He also bagged another award for the same song.

Tanzanian star Diamond Platnumz was declared the best artist in East Africa at the awards held in Atlanta Georgia. Innos B got the same award for the Central Africa region.

Burna Boy, currently rocking the whole world, was awarded the Best Male Artist of the year award. His Nigerian counterpart Davido was awarded the best Digital artist.

Nigerians Patoranking and Olamide got awarded best Reggae and Dancehall and Best Rap album respectively.

South Africa was represented by Focalistic who took home the Best South African artist award.
