Kaka Empire and Gospel: Why the Record Label is Slowly turning Religious

Kaka Empire started as a label by Kaka Sungura aka Rabbit the King turned King Kaka almost a decade ago. The label started with artists such as Timmy Dat, Phy, Femi One, Avril among a few others. Recently it has leaned towards producing more uplifting gospel-related music.

King Kaka’s latest track Explain just goes to show that the rapper and some of his signees are also doing the same. Jadi have also released a collaboration with Watendawili called Bless My Money.

The rapper also performed two tracks live a month back, both of which are gospel tracks. 9 months ago, King Kaka also dropped a collaboration with Tanzanian gospel star Goodluck Gozbert.

Kanambo Dede, another signee of the Empire also did the same with Mungu Baba. The track gives thanks to God for the blessings she has continued to receive. The track also features King Kaka.

Femi One seems to be the only one who hasn’t gotten the memo yet. She has rarely leaned into the gospel vibe as she continues to give fans party song. Her latest song with Nyashinski goes to show that she is still much into her usual style.
