Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua Promises to Reward Girl who Came Up with His Nickname
Rigathi Gachagua is an interesting figure in Kenya’s current political shift as his role as Deputy President continues to dawn on him. He has even gotten a new name that is doing so well for his image.
The Deputy President, while speaking on TV on Sunday, October 2, revealed that he would award the lady that came up with his current nickname. He promised that he would reward one Ivy Chelimo who was first quoted as referring to him as Riggy G.
The name has continued to grow in people’s heads as the Deputy now leaves his normal name and even gets all smiles when he is called that name.
“The young lady who saw that the name Rigathi Gachagua is a little bit difficult and not melodious. I took it up because it would relate with the young guys,” he said speaking on Citizen TV.
He mentioned that he had directed his sons to look for the lady so that he would invite her over for dinner and would also thank her for coming up with the moniker.
Riggy G was first noticed on Twitter when Ivy Chelimo accidentally tweeted the name in reference to the Deputy president during the height of the campaigns in August. The name was taken over and has recently become permanent in people’s heads.
It seems like the Deputy President likes it and he is looking to make sure the original creator of the name is well rewarded.
