Azimio La Umoja MPs Ditch Coalition for Kenya Kwanza

Majority of Azimio La Umoja MPs are ditching the coalition to form an alliance with Kenya Kwanza. According to multiple reports on Thursday, August 18, elected candidates are officially joining the current ruling party.

“We salute the United Democratic Movement (UDM) leadership for abandoning Azimio La Umoja and joining Kenya Kwanza,” president-elect William Ruto tweeted.

This also comes after Garissa Township MP-elect Aden Duale accused Azimio la Umoja One Kenya of misleading Kenyans about their numbers in Parliament after the just concluded General Election.

The numbers seem to be shifting by each day as the new government hangs in limbo over taking power pending the demands by Azimio La Umoja.

Azimio La Umoja came out on Tuesday to declare that they did not trust the IEBC had conducted a free and fair election. The party, through it’s leader Raila Odinga, claimed that there were discrepancies leading to the outcome of the election results.

4 IEBC commissioners also caused a national meltdown when they reported that they did not approve the numbers that were publicly read by chairman Wafula Chebukati.

It is yet to be known how far they will go with the petition as nothing has been heard from the Supreme Court.
