Cristiano Ronaldo is back in Manchester United after a tumultuous couple of weeks outside the club. The Portuguese winger jetted back in on Monday, July 25, in what looks like a move to stay at the club.

Ronaldo had been rumored to be exiting the club ever since Manchester United failed to qualify for the Champions League last season. The winger is a rare absentee from the competition and with Manchester United playing the Europa League this coming season, the winger wanted away.

The Portuguese captain had been rumored to be looking to join clubs that are playing in the premier competition of club football. He started attracting attention at the end of last season from top clubs in Europe but none made an official bid.

He waited in the wings for Real Madrid and Juventus to make a move but none inquired about him. He was at one point rumored to be wanted by Chelsea, but the English club did not make any offer.

Spanish giants Atletico Madrid were also associated with Ronaldo but pulled out before they could consider going after the winger.

His return to Manchester United is the only option he was left with and that is why the icon is back again to discuss his future at the club.
