Khaligraph Jones Defends Diamond Over Azimio Gig
Rapper Khaligraph Jones has come out to defend Tanzanian star Diamond Platinumz over his performance at the Azimio La Umoja rally that happened at Kasarani on Saturday, August 6.
The rapper stated that most Kenyan artists were apolitical, and therefore found it hard to take sides during elections. This was because most of them were trying to protect their fanbase by not participating in election campaigns.
Khaligraph revealed that this may be the reason Diamond appeared as the main artist during the Azimio La Umoja campaign in Nairobi.
The event caused an uproar among Kenyan artists who commented that it was a political event in their country hence a local artist should have been used.
” A local artist would have sufficed,” rapper Juliani noted shading light on what most Kenyans were thinking.
Other celebrities such as Eric Omondi have since come out to respond to the whole issue saying that Kenyan artists are plain lazy.
The comedian also got in a war of words with Khaligraph Jones stating that the showbiz industry in Kenya did not match the international one.
He even went ahead to share the list of the most streamed artist in Kenya showing an influx of Tanzania artists leading the chart.
There have been numerous responses from the show with Kenyan artists terming it as disrespect in that a national event like that would have just led by inviting Kenyan artists to perform.
