Kenyan RnB Legend Habida Makes Musical Comeback
Habida, arguably Kenya’s finest RnB singer is making a comeback. The singer spoke on Nation FM on Friday, February 24 and promised her fans that she was back in music.
“I have new music that I’m premiering today to mark my official comeback into the industry,” Habida announced.
The singer noted that she has taken a hiatus from the craft to pursue other things in her life but was glad to be back.
She talked about the new talents doing her kind of music and mentioned a few. “I look at Nikita Kering and wow. I wish someone hadn’t told me that my music was ahead of it’s time back then. I felt disappointed,” she revealed.
The Sunshine hitmaker also claimed that most singers who do her genre sometimes lack the storyline to support it. She said that the genre needed a story for it to be successful.
Habida also touched on the Kenyan entertainment scene and said that most artists don’t make it because they lack support. “I’ve got support coming from home. Most artists don’t have teams backing them up. If you look at Nikita Kering, there are people around her. You can feel that she has support and a plan for her music,” she explained.
The singer had taken a break from the craft for a while as she was outside the country. She talked about her new EP and premiered some of her songs on Nation FM.
We hope she maintains it.
