34 People Die as Modern Coast Bus Crushes Tharaka Nithi
A Modern Coast bus traveling from Meru to Mombasa was crushed in River Nithi on Sunday, July 24. The bus was crushed in the river after it veered off the road.
24 people are feared dead after the Sunday accident with witnesses claiming that the bus might have had a technical problem while on the journey.
Some witnesses that were interviewed by various media outlets reported that the bus might have had a brakes failure that led to it veering of the road before it crushed into the Nithi River.
Those injured were taken to Chuka Level and other hospitals in Tharaka Nithi with Tharaka Nithi County Commissioner Nobert Komora confirming the news.
The accident had Kenyans complaining of speed and reckless driving blaming the driver for being the main culprit. Kenyans online slammed the bus driver for causing the loss of lives that was witnessed.
