Deputy President Gachagua’s Vow and Raila Odinga’s Surprising Visit to State House: Unraveling the Political Drama
In a surprising turn of events, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has made a bold declaration, vowing to prevent Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party leader Raila Odinga from getting anywhere near State House. This political rift between two prominent figures has sparked intrigue and speculation across the nation.
On October 31, despite Gachagua’s firm stance, Raila Odinga found himself among the distinguished guests invited to the State Banquet held in honor of the visiting King Charles III and Queen Camilla at State House Nairobi. This unexpected development raises questions about Gachagua’s ability to keep his promise of keeping Raila at bay.
Gachagua, who had been on a working visit to Germany, asserted that he was responsible for ensuring Raila’s exclusion from State House. He emphasized his commitment to setting traps and preventing Raila from gaining access to the political center of power. Gachagua expressed concerns about Raila’s potential to disrupt the political landscape if given the opportunity.
During a Sunday church mass in Nandi county, Gachagua suggested that Raila was considering using alternative means to infiltrate the Kenya Kwanza government. He voiced his determination to oppose any such attempt, asserting that he would be held accountable if Raila managed to enter the government through unconventional channels.
Notably, this marked Raila Odinga’s first visit to State House in Nairobi since his defeat in the August 2022 elections. During the State Banquet, Raila had the opportunity to interact with the visiting British monarch and engage in diplomacy. The ODM party confirmed Raila’s attendance at the royal dinner, leading to mixed reactions on social media and heightened anticipation of the unfolding political drama.
